Kickstart your day with a refreshing jog alongside your dog. As the days lengthen in spring, there's more natural light in the early morning hours, making it easier and safer to run outdoors. Plus, springtime temperatures are often more moderate compared to the extreme heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter!

 

Jogging not only gets your heart pumping but it also allows you and your pup to explore new parts of your neighborhood or city. Each time you head out, try and choose a new trail or park where you can both bask in the beauty of nature while breaking a sweat. Just remember to bring water for hydration and take breaks as needed to prevent overexertion – especially if you or your pup are new to jogging.

 

Take a walk in nature

If walking is more your speed, no problem! Walking promotes cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and joint flexibility, so take the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll with your pup. It also provides mental stimulation thanks to the variety of sights, sounds, and smells encountered along the way – especially if you walk somewhere new.

If your dog loves to run, consider going for a bike ride together. To safely bike with your dog, start by investing in a proper bike leash attachment to ensure your dog stays secure during rides. Once you have this in place, you can get them accustomed to walking alongside your bike on a leash.

 

Next, you can start doing slow, short rides, gradually increasing speed and distance as your dog becomes more comfortable running alongside your bike. Regardless of how comfortable your dog becomes around your bike, always prioritize your dog's safety and well-being by avoid busy or crowded areas.
